Cleaning isn’t the most exciting thing to have to do and can sometimes be a challenge that gets put off as it's time consuming and frustrating. There are some super, quick and effective domestic cleaning cheats that you can use to decrease the time that cleaning takes out of your day.
Use baking soda and vinegar to unclog drains. This is an old science experiment turned into a domestic cleaning hack to dissolve all the build up and sludge from your drains.
Use borax. Borax can be used to clean carpets, dissolve messes and stains and deodorizing mattresses as it is a good cleaning powder that can be used to disinfect and kill bacteria.
Use lemon as a disinfectant. Lemons are a very off but very effective item to use when domestic cleaning. They have very good antibacterial and antiseptic properties with the benefit of a pleasant perfume smell.
Use white vinegar to descale your kettle. White vinegar is a non-toxic cleaning solution to descale your kettle, and has a mild odour.
Make your own all-purpose cleaner. When it comes to domestic cleaning , it can be very useful and effective to have one, all purpose cleaner that you can use on multiple surfaces. Combine 4 tablespoons of baking soda and 1 quart warm water to make the cleaner and use a sponge to wipe away the mess.
Create a mixture to get stains out of carpets. Combine white vinegar, dish soap and water together, spray the area and let soak for 5-10 minutes depending on the stain and proceed to scrub out the stain.
Use sponges or reusable clothes instead of paper towels. This reduces the cost of paper towels and reduces the amount of rubbish you throw away which creates more greenhouse gases. Using paper towels is more energy intensive too and you will have to keep getting clean paper towels after each use which makes domestic cleaning more time consuming.
